AGED 8-18? LIVE NEAR BOLD TENDENCIES CAR PARK PECKHAM? COME AND PERFORM WITH US THIS SUMMER!
The Multi-Story Youth Choir is back for another fun summer of music-making. And this year, we're starting The Multi-Story Youth Ensemble so that instrumentalists can come and perform with us too!
This free holiday activity will run from Wednesday 1 to Saturday 4 August 2018.
The Multi-Story Youth Choir will be working with singer-songwriters Abimaro Gunnell and Fran Lobo to create a brand new piece that they will perform with The Multi-Story Orchestra and conductor Christopher Stark. The choir is open to anyone aged 8-12 who lives in or near Peckham. You don’t need to have any previous experience singing to take part.
And The Multi-Story Youth Ensemble will be working with conductor Christopher Stark and musicians from The Multi-Story Orchestra on a piece specially written by composer Kate Whitley called The Animals. The ensemble is open to anyone aged 11-18 who lives in or near Peckham and plays an orchestra instrument. It doesn't matter if you've only just started learning or have played your instrument for many years. The music will be specially written for you to play with The Multi-Story Orchestra.
The Youth Choir sessions will run from 10am-4pm and the Youth Ensemble sessions from 4.30-6.30pm in Peckham every day from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 August 2018. And 10am-4pm for everyone on Saturday 4 August, with the final performance taking place at 3pm at Bold Tendencies Car Park Peckham. You can find out more information about the performance here.
To take part, parents/guardians will need to complete the sign-up and consent form by Friday 13 July 2018. Please note that there are only a limited number of places available. It is not possible to sign up for both the youth choir and youth ensemble.
A detailed schedule for the project will be sent nearer the time to everyone who's signed up. If you have any questions in the meantime, or if any parents are interested in helping out as chaperones for the project, please contact Kate Green by email email@example.com.
