Multi-Story Orchestra statement on COVID-19

All of us at Multi-Story send our warmest wishes and hope that you are remaining well and safe during these difficult times.

We are disappointed that we are unable to launch our season as planned this week due to COVID-19, but we will always put the health and well being of our musicians, participants and audiences above all else.

Whilst we are sailing uncharted waters, we know that creativity, arts and music can bring hope in times of uncertainty, and with this in mind we remain more committed than ever to our mission - to provide the highest level of music to communities who might not otherwise have the opportunity to access the arts.

We will continue to do whatever we can to support those most impacted by the crisis by:

- Honouring our existing freelance contracts and bookings for 2020, and continuing to book freelance musicians if there is any activity we are still able to carry out

- Continuing to reach the young people in the schools we engage with and
providing them with whatever educational and artistic activity is now possible

- Supporting disadvantaged and isolated communities however we can and
providing them with whatever activity is still possible

We are at risk of not being able to continue in the future without external support at this time and are hugely grateful to our funders and those who donate to our Membership Scheme for their ongoing support.

We are in discussion with community groups and schools, and have already taken steps to ensure we support those most in need during this time. We look forward to sharing our plans with you as they unfold and can't wait for the day when we are able to bring communities together to experience amazing music once again.
