 We are joined by amazing soprano Francesca Chiejina to perform the aria Dove Sono from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro alongside a new piece by Kate Whitley for orchestra and children's choir, and a new arrangement of Handel's Passacaglia for orchestra. We will be joined by young singers and instrumentalists from the Multi-Story youth ensemble and choir, who first came together for our 2017 BBC Proms performance.

PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING @ BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall

We’re very excited to be joining cult London band Public Service Broadcasting who are making their Proms debut in a special Late Night Prom to mark the 50th anniversary of the first manned mission to the Moon. 

We’ll be performing an orchestral arrangement of their 2015 studio album The Race for Space at the Royal Albert Hall.

Blending both acoustic and electronic performance and archive audio samples, the album explores the highs and lows of the US–Soviet space race of the 1960s, and is heard here for the first time in this specially commissioned new version.

We are also going be collaborating for the first time with the amazing young musicians from East Riding Youth Orchestra - led by composer Fraser Trainer, together we are creating a completely new piece of music inspired by In C, which will be performed by more an orchestra of more than 70 musicians.

After our first concert in Gloucester last summer, we are returning this year as part of Gloucester Rooftop festival to perform ‘People of the World’ – a call to help protect the environment and its inhabitants from the impact of human damage - which is being created specially for the concert by children from 4 Gloucester primary schools with singer songwriter Abimaro Gunnell. We are also playing Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus overture and will be joined by young musicians from Gloucester Academy of Music for Kate Whitley's The Animals.

The amazing singers Abimaro Gunnell and Fran Lobo and our composer Kate Whitley are working with more than 100 children from around Peckham to create a completely new piece of music specially for this concert. They are coming together to perform with The Orchestra, alongside Kate Whitley's Sky Dances - commissioned by the London Symphony Orchestra and performed in Trafalgar Square last year – and dances from Stravinsky’s infamous ballet Petroushka.

We are very excited to be performing as part of Kings Place’s Venus Unwrapped year-long festival, with a concert featuring Ravel’s beautiful ‘Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé’ sung by rising-star soprano Sarah-Jane Lewis, alongside a new set of love songs written specifically for the event by our composer Kate Whitley and poet Sabrina Mahfouz  (‘In quite a different league…She speaks lyrically and powerfully.’ The Times) - and readings from Sabrina and Hibaq Osman alongside improvisations from cellist Abel Salacoe and violinist Fra Rustumji.

ADAMS Short Ride and HAYDN 'The Clock'

As part of Bold Tendencies' season closing event called 'The Order of Time', we will be performing Adams Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Haydn Symphony no.101, The Clock.

Running order for the event will be as follows:

7pm: The Order of Time: ES DEVLIN from text written by CARLO ROVELLI read by Benedict Cumberbatch.

7.45pm: The Multi-Story Orchestra will perform Short Ride in a Fast Machine, John Adams’ five minute masterpiece for 70 players and Haydn Symphony no.101 The Clock.

8.45pm: Bold Tendencies will host Carlo Rovelli and Es Devlin for a discussion of The Order of Time in the Straw Auditorium.
